Welcom Jo
Rodenburg as our new Artistic Director! Ms. Rodenburg brings
an excitement and energy to our organization based in her commitment
to the arts in the overall region, and specifically in her belief
that GPCA has been such an important part of the South Suburban
performing arts community.
As a
classical performer active in opera, classical concert music and
such prestigious organizations as Music of the Baroque, Chicago
Symphony Chorus and Grant Park Music Festival; Ms. Rodenburg has
first hand knowledge and understanding of the skills and tools
necessary for the voice as an expressive artistic medium. She has
learned from some of the best, and is committed to share that
experience with our singers. Her own talents as a vocalist aside,
she brings a background as musician, choir director and teacher. She
has maintained a busy teaching studio in Chicago for the past 15
years with a range of student experience from the beginner with no
prior voice training to seasoned professionals maintaining and still
developing their craft. Her students range from 12 years old to 60
years young. She believes music comes from the heart and when
released is one of the most fulfilling experiences a person can
enjoy.
Please welcome
Jo Rodenburg effective August 1st. She invites all individuals who
love singing to make an appointment with the only auditioned choral
organization in the South Suburbs to rehearse and perform
masterworks in all genres from Baroque to jazz for audiences in the
south suburban communities.
